Final piece ideas

From the beginning I knew I wanted to do lino printing but I didn't know how I was going to present it. So I researched different ways I could display them.
I'm thinking wallpaper, covering a long bit of paper with my lino prints.

Screen research

I'm thinking about my final piece, and the way its going to look at exhibition. For starters I don't want the wallpaper to just be on the wall, I want it to look a little more fashionable- something that someone would like to have in their house. So I'm looking at room dividers, something that was used a long time ago for screening yourself when getting changed. But I'm thinking that it might be a nice place to hang wallpaper.

So I'm looked at this Youtube clip that inspired me to make my own because buying one costs too much:

Lino Prints and process

I know I want to do a lino print now, for my final piece but I don't want to use people that I don't know from the internet, so I wanted to make it more personal, I want to do a portrait of my cousin, seen as though they have been the main highlight in my project.

Process of lino printing:

1. Lino cut of my cousin- Sadie- aged  4
2/3
2. Roll paint with a roller onto the lino cut

Portraits

Thought this week I have been thinking about doing a timeline piece, whereby I would have lino prints in the form of a portrait; to show the stages of life, from baby> an OAP.
I have done some drawings and line drawings of these and they are an idea that I'm going to bare in mind. I do think that the "stage" idea is something I'm going to think about in later research.

Crit Day 1

My tutor wanted to do a quick, informal crit of the work we had done so far. All I had to show for my work was initial ideas, drawings from my cousins and lots of written research. However, this is only about the start of the 3rd week, so I was on track. But I know I have to start thinking about my final piece and what my exhibition was going to look like.

I did however, like this crit because it gave my peers a chance to see my work and tell me what they think of my project and what I could look at in terms of artists, websites etc.
Everyone seemed to understand what my project was about but people wanted to see more presentation in my sketchbook, more working things out and apply some graphics to help with understanding.

Children's TV programs:

These children's programs are not only entertaining but they teach children a lot, for example: other languages, sign language, how to eat healthily and how use art to make something useful.

Inspiration!

Just a quick picture that I found of the mess my cousins made, I thought it looked really artistic.

Research

Research into the physical and cognitive development in babies, toddlers, pre-school children etc. I find this process very interesting, I enjoyed reading articles and depicting the right information. It is a very long part of the project, I spent up to 6 hours a day reading, printing, annotating. But it is important that I understand every part of my own project:
